Rahm starts the season with a new caddie: Adam Hayes

JonRahm_AdamHayesJon Rahm is making a lot of debuts this week. He’ll break in the new season with the first round of the Safeway Open, opening tournament of the PGA Tour 2016/17 held on the Silverado Resort & Spa course in Napa, California. Rham will open with a golf class, the American tour card and even a new caddie.

Precisely, the person who will be in charge of bringing him the clubs and who will spend the most amount of time with him on the golf course is the biggest novelty in the start of the new season. We’re talking Adam Hayes, a highly distinguished veteran in the profession. He started working in 2000, in the LGPA Tour, and not even four years later he made the jump to the PGA Tour. He’s worked with a lot of talented golfers in the American Tour. Some of which are Vaughn Taylor, Ben Crane, Jason Dufner, Jonathan Byrd and Russell Henley, the latter with whom he worked who played in the last two Masters at Augusta.

Hayes studied at Brevard Community College and the University of Central Florida and is one of the most renowned and most respected representatives of the Association of Professional Caddies of the PGA Tour. He has taken home various wins alongside his golfers, although without a doubt the one he will never forget was with Jonathan Byrd in the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in 2010 in Las Vegas. Byrd won by one hole on the fourth hole for the tiebreak.

Rham will make his debut in the season after almost two months without competing during which he’s alternated between resting, vacation, family, some advertising commitments and, of course, training in order to go into the season as well prepared as possible. He will start the new season at 7:40 am, local time, on the 10th hole with John Huh and Luke List. The time difference between Napa and Spain is nine hours. Thus, Rham will start his new journey in the PGA Tour, with his own card in hand, at 4:40 pm Spanish time.
